Consumers often believe they can walk into a reputable jewelry store, present a piece of jewelry for a cursory visual inspection and be advised of the value. For an accurate valuation, the process is much more detailed. Authenticity, size and quality of gemstones must be determined which requires testing, precise measuring and skilled grading. Metal content, construction and current condition must also be determined to judge the value.
Julie Nash, co–owner of Anton Nash Independent Jewelry Appraisers, is available by appointment in our store for insurance appraisals, estate and liquidation valuations and consultations. You may choose to sit with Julie during the discovery process or you may leave your treasures with us at your convenience until the work is completed. If you are uncertain about which items should be appraised, Johannes Hunter staff will help you make that determination based on your personal criteria.
Julie is a Graduate Jeweler Gemologist (GIA), Accredited Senior Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers and Master Gemologist appraiser (ASA). Julie has been published in many trade magazines and presented at numerous symposiums.
